Climate
Average daytime temperature is around +5°C in Vilnius at the end of October and in the first days of November. At night, temperatures may fall below zero. Rain or even wet snow is quite common at this time of the year as well. Therefore, visitors are advised to bring warmer clothes and an umbrella.
Currency
Litas is the national currency of Lithuania. It is pegged to the euro at a stable rate of 3.4528 litas for one euro. Credit cards are accepted in almost all hotels, shops, bars and restaurants in Vilnius. Cash machines (ATMs) are installed all over the city, therefore there’s no need to bring cash except the pocket money. Money exchange services are provided at the airport, hotels and banks.
Restaurants and shops
Vilnius offers plenty of cafes, bars and restaurants to dine, have a drink or a cup of coffee or tea. Prices are moderate in most places, while the variety of selection is abundant, from the national food to Italian, Chinese, Hungarian, etc. cuisine. For beer lovers, trying at least several local brews is a must.
There are many shops, from small groceries to supermarkets, all over the capital of Lithuania. Almost all of them are open from 8 am to at least until 8 pm and on weekends.
City Transport
The old part and the centre of Vilnius are relatively small making the foot-walk probably the most efficient way to reach destination, especially if not in a hurry. The public transport system offers a well-developed network of busses and trolley-busses. Taxi service is available 24 hours. Most restaurants and hotels will call a taxi for you at your request. Health Insurance
The organisers of the festival take no responsibility for health problems and accidents that might occur. Therefore, all the guests are advised to take care of their health insurance indvidually.
Visa
Lithuania is a member of the European Union and the Schengen Zone. Therefore, the citizens of world’s most countries do not need visa to enter Lithuania.
